"If anyone speaks, let it be as with words of God. If anyone ministers, let it be as from the strength that God furnishes;
that in all things God may be honored through Jesus Christ, to whom are the glory and the dominion forever."
1 Peter 4:11
We invite those that may be interested in participating as a liturgical minister — there are many ways to contribute! If you would like to volunteer as an EM, Lector, Usher, Altar Server, or Greeter, please contact Fr. Canisius at frcanisius@shgparish.org or 410-833-1696. God bless your efforts!

Sacred Heart parishioners who would like to be Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are invited to a short training on January 13, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. in the Main Church. All new EMs will be officially welcomed and commissioned at the Rite of Commissioning on February 10 at each Mass.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, oftentimes abbreviated as EMs, help distribute the consecrated hosts and precious blood during Holy Communion. Special ministers of the Eucharist should be at least 16 years old, have been confirmed, and be of sufficient Christian maturity with a definite continuing relationship to the parish including an understanding of and regular participation in the Eucharist and with a character and way of life that reflects a serious and well-informed faith commitment to the church.
Please contact Fr. Canisius if you are interested in being a lector or an usher at Mass.
"I was a stranger and you welcomed me." (Mt 25:35)
Take an active roll in our weekend liturgies by becoming a minister of hospitality — a Greeter! We need parishioners to join us in "revealing the face of Christ" to others. All of us, adults and teenagers, can be "greeters". All you need is a genuine smile and an initiative to greet.
If you feel that you have a gift for welcoming or a gift for smiling, please consider joining our "Greeter Ministry". Our primary responsibility is to welcome those entering our parish to celebrate Mass and wish them a blessed day as they leave. The warmth and personalization associated with this greeting is contagious, stays with us, and helps us live out the Gospel message. For more info, contact Fr. Canisius at 410-833-1696 or frcanisius@shgparish.org.
