On the weekend of the August 15, 2004, the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, we dedicated two beautiful new statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph. The statues were crafted by the Demetz Art Studio in Ortisei, a small village nestled in the Dolomites in the Northern part of Italy. They are approximately four feet tall and carved from chestnut wood.

“We praise you for gifts you bestowed upon
the Blessed Virgin Mary and her husband St. Joseph,
in whose honor we dedicate these statues.
May we follow their example of holiness of life,
and devotion to the Lord Jesus.
May we listen to the voice of the Lord,
even as they did,
and come to know Jesus as brother, Lord and Savior.
As we bless these statues,
may they serve to remind us of the glory
of your saints in heaven,
which we one day hope to join."
